Federico Gianello

Renowned and esteemed piano concert player, between 1998 and 2004 Federico Gianello obtained first prizes at the international piano competitions J. Brahms of Klagenfurt, E. Grieg of Oslo, S. Stancic of Zagreb, Premi Principat de Andorra, Concurso Internacional de Piano Compositores d’Espana de Madrid, Giovanni Battista Viotti di Vercelli, City of Pinerolo, City of Marsala and Alfonso Rendano Award of Rome.

He collaborates as a guest artist with Orquestra Sinfonica de Madrid, Greiz Symphoniker, West Czech Symphony, JSO Weimar, Filarmonica HRTV of Zagreb, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Arena of Verona, I Virtuosi Italiani, GOG of Genoa, Chamber Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, and for chamber music with the violinists Noah Bendix-Balgley and Simone Bernardini (Berliner Philharmoniker), Glauco Bertagnin, the violists Ania Serova, Alfredo Zamarra, and with the Zagreb Quartet.

He has made radio and television recordings for RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana, Bayerische Rundfunk and Radio France.

He studied with Lazar Berman, Alexander Lonquich and Gerlinde Otto, graduating from the Hochschule F. Liszt; decisive meetings with Martha Argerich, Aldo Ciccolini, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Louis Lortie and Maurizio Pollini.

He taught piano at the Musik Hochschule Franz Liszt in Weimar and chairs the Steinway Society in Verona.

Director Amici della Musica di Verona and of the Società Letteraria di Verona, he is artistic director of the new AMV Concert Award and of the Gran Premi Musical Laurediá to the Principat d’Andorra. Federico Gianello is a Steinway Artist testimonial.
